Magu Bee at World's End

A travel blog of one crazy Magu Bee traveling the globe.

Cairo is called  the city of thousand mosques for a reason.

I didn't visit but one, The Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, but it was beautiful. Situated on the summit of the citadel, it is one of the perfect spots to see Cairo's panorama.

Before getting on the grounds of the mosque, you are approached by a lady renting out appropriate outfits, of course for an appropriate fee.

From what I noticed, the inside of a mosque is a bit of a different sacred space than of a church. We're not "supposed" to talk or socialize in any way, while it seemed as if a mosque, apart from a place for prayer, is also a community's meeting point.
